Our Preempts
Over Opponents' Preempts
Somewhere between disciplined and off-the-wall.
Weak 2s: Described in the section on 2-level openings.
4M: A 4-level major suit opening should be considered to set trumps unilaterally. Thus, any new suit bid is a cue bid in an attempt to reach slam.
(2M)-4N: Good and very shapely hand, promising
both minors.
(2M)-4SM: Very strong hand with support for
both minors.
(2Y)-2N: As a whole, we haven't come to an
agreement on this. Some play it as unusual for the two lowest unbid suits,
others play it as showing a 1NT opener type hand with the opponents' suit
stopped. System may or may not be on. Discuss and reach agreement with
your partner.
(2M)-4m: Good two-suited hand, with the
bid suit and the unbid major.
