I came to the United States from Vietnam by a quite unusual education itinerary with flavors from three continents. I grew up and went to school in Vietnam, got BSc degree (Information Science, MESI) in Russia, MSc degree (Computer Science, ANU) in Australia and Doctoral (Decision Science) from the University of Kansas.
My inquiry has been wandering about the issues of data, information and decision making. I love puzzles, from that of more technical nature for which I am, sometimes, able to find solutions to write up academic papers to those of more philosophical nature that often bother me without satisfactory explanation. Why data are plenty but useful information is precious, why individuals are good at small-stake problems but human society as a whole often makes disastrous decisions.
Currently, the focus of my research is in healthcare.
My vita is here.
