Two themes of research
My research has two themes that are distinct but complementary.
On the theoretical plane I have been thinking about a framework that allows representation of different types of uncertainty (probability, possibility, belief function, ignorance) and how to make rational decision under such heterogeneous uncertainty. (The logo of this site is the graph of the Tau-anchor utility function drawn from my theory for decision making under ignorance.)
On the application plane, I have been working (mostly in collaboration with colleagues from Veteran Affairs Health Administration) on applications that use the health data to help clinicians and healthcare administrators to make better informed decisions. In the software section of this site you can find some of the apps that I wrote.
