SUMMARY / COMMENTARY:
*The Slush Pile* (DFC-404)
-- Away goes humor down the drain
Two of the children watch their mom washing the dishes. A mixed
message of domestic life. Raw captions passed along by an Editor.
A simple portrayal of domestic life becomes a traversal through the
well-trodden portions of the Difficult Zone minefield.
The double-hyphenated commercial vocabulary is multiply presented.
The most foul of foul "relatives" rears his useless heads (both the
big one and the small) five times. And other Difficult material is
plentiful although there is no direct parroting of the Spinnwebe site,
at least none that I noticed. There are complaints about the quality
of the drawing, and multiple redundant catchphrases, such as David
Bowman's Exit Line and the four-letter locational descriptor.
Presentation of various drugs and children's sexuality is prevalent.
The brothers of the children are presented as having been killed.
And the white space in the drawing appears both with and without the
four letter descriptor a few times.
On the plus side, enumeration of a series was limited to a single
instance this time. There was only one haiku, and in spiteof Thel's
presence, we were not presented with the ten-letter maternal epithet,
with or without the hyphenated descriptor.
So many of our visitors seem to be relying only on this
Summary/Commentary for a full accounting of the subject captions. This
is not possible. For the best representation of the KAK Caption Media
Analysis Model applied to this set of captions, visit the
